Hi just want some suggestions I have 3 tank set ups at the moment 1
coldwater with goldfish and 2 2 ft x 1ft x 1 ft tropical tanks. I tank has
3 clown loaches and a red-tailed shark with 4 tetras. The other has about a
million baby guppies and 3 corys.

The Loaches and the shark are now outgrowing the tank so luckily im getting
a 6ft x 2ft x 2ft tank. The loaches and the shark are being moved into it.
I like "big" colourful fish and would like to have some suggestions. I
would like something like blue acara, blue dolphin cichlid or something
similar. My PH is 6.8 and water soft. Obviously they have to be compatible
with the loaches and shark

Any Ideas???

Thanks in advance

Steve

Tankmate selection engine, may show some fish other posters over looked.
It's like window shopping!

I don't have the original post on my server so I might have missed some
details. A lot would depend if this was a planted tank or not. If not,
then fish like Silver dollars, Leporinus, Headstanders and Severums come
to mind, otherwise Angels, Discus, misc Gouramis (ie: Pearl, Moonlight
etc). The only blue dolphin I'm aware of is the Cyrtocara moorii, but
all my experience with these fish has been from 7.5 to 8.4pH, so I don't
know how 6.8pH would affect them. I imagine that it's possible,
depending on their conditions of origin.

Clown loaches and an RTshark don't really restrict your choices in a
180g tank. Clowns can be gregarious (I would get more), so their
territorial footprint could be hard on small substrate spawners (who were
in the act ;~). Sharks can have a endless enthusiasm for harassing other
fish, but they save their real efforts for their own kind, so it's always
ymmv with sharks. If possible, install all your other fish about a week
prior to moving the shark over.
