About 4 or 5 months ago, many of you guys told me the external
cannister filter was unnecessary and I didn't believe you. Don't ask me
why, but a few weeks ago, I decided to turn the thing off to see what
would happen. Nothing did - the water quality has remained very stable.
The only consequence was that I had to buy another power head to
maintain adequate water flow that was no longer being generated by the
cannister.
So, you have probably forgotten my original posting, but I thought I
would just say you were all right after all - it was just a question of
courage - and careful monitoring, I guess :-)
