Cleaner Shrimp

When I saw a few spots, clearly not ich, on my Kole Tang I was advised
to get a cleaner shrimp, so I got a Peppermint and the Tang was clear in
a couple days. Just a coincidence, I was sure. Then this morning I saw
my pseudochromis shimmying wantonly in front of the shrimp and,
unbelievable to me, the Peppermint actually responded for at least an
hour, pecking away at what appeared a healthy fish surface. I

Scroll down a couple photos. I was impressed. Of course, I've seen
this in documentaries, but not in my very own tank. I had no idea this
was cleaning instigated by the fish.

That looks like a Scarlet Skunk Cleaner to me..
All peppermints are good for is aptasia and attacking host anemones...

My peppermints were sent to the refugium and replaced with a Scarlet Cleaner
who now services my Lawnmower Blenny's gills and body on a regular basis.

My Oc. Amph. clowns have yet to allow him to clean, but he/she is trying
to..

I changed the name. I like the name Scarlet Skunk much better any way.

I have a skunk cleaner shrimp in my tank, and last week I got a Pakistan
butterfly. When I let the butterfly out of the bag, he swam right over to
the shrimp and got a cleaning. Pretty cool!
