View Full Version : fish getting killed and attacked

May 21st 05, 08:43 PM
I have the following fish in my tank, and there seem to be some
casualties/attacks in it. What is doing this to them?

-2 x Three Spot Domino Damselfish
-2 x Three Stripe Damselfish (one of them is missing an eye this morning)
-2 x Blue Reef Chromis (one was killed two days ago, I saw the other Chromis
constantly attacking it's wounds before it eventually croacked. What
attacked it in the fist place?)
-1 x Fridmani Pseudochromis
-1 x Blue Tang
-a few red legged crabs
-snails

Thanks
Haig

Here's my guess.

I have a powder blue that's killed several fish. I finally bought three large
damsels at one time to confuse him. That was two or three years ago. It took him
a year, but he finally decided to concentrate on one and killed that one. A few
months ago, he decided to concentrate on another, but that one got smart. He has
a cave he stays in, and he never comes out long enough for the tang to get in a
good lick. The tang leaves the other damsel alone at the moment 'cause he's
laying for the one in the cave.

I also have a lionfish, but the tang isn't crazy enough to go after that.

"Naked" means you ain't got no clothes on; "nekkid" means you ain't got
no clothes on - and are up to somethin'.

Sounds like your damsels may be the cause. These little guys can be
aggressive especially with other damsels. I'd keep an eye on them.
