Hi Elaine,
Just curious as to whether it was you who posted the reply to Kathy on her
welcome or whether someone is trying to steal your identity....?

Thanks for the heads-up. I can't find the post you're talking about at
the moment. Maybe it hasn't hit my server. BUT...I'm working on the
software to digitally sign all of my posts.

For rec.aquaria.misc folks, there is a troll in another ng who is
forging headers. If I suddenly appear to say something
uncharacteristic, rude, abusive, or otherwise "off", please check the
message headers to see whether it was really me.

It is actually posted by anonymous via google. But uses your signature.
Maybe you have them killfiled. Might be worth checking the group via google
if you don't have filters set up on it.

Yep. I have EVERYTHING with anonymous anywhere in the sender killfiled.
Thanks for the heads-up them. It's definately a forgery. As for the
sig, Jabbers always cuts and pastes them. I guess it's definately time
to get the digital signature up and running.

Of course, the other problem will be if people believe what was in the
message. I didn't but then I'm not sure of others. Saw your response - let's
hope that does the trick. Apart from insults he/she hasn't gone for me yet
but it'll only be time I'm sure - I only actually get the insults if I check
on google. The forgery of Jan was so good she said "That was almost
believably me, except it was crossed posted and I'm no longer responding to
this garbage. Exception; this time only because this
is the first time I've had my ID forged. "

I struggle with the kill files - the obvious ones are the cross posters with
no interest in the topic and of course the "J" man. But some I am sure are
really being forged so well it is difficult to tell which is genuine and
which is not....I've had good advice from some of these so I don't want to
killfile them but I'm not sure if they are playing games or being forged.

I'm sorry for raising this all on this NG, who don't really need to hear
about problems on another one....in some ways I'm thinking this is just
propagating the J and C problem...but I could think of no other way of
alerting you to this - I don't even know if your email address is
genuine...(mine isn't)....

Maybe we should take this "off-line" (as my Manager is very keen on saying -
