View Full Version : looking for a seamless glass tank

May 25th 05, 09:34 PM
I am looking for a seamless glass tank of dimensions 15"X15"X8" (or of
similar dimensions). I need all the seams to be all glass and no glue
or any other adhesives. This includes the edges of the tank, the base
and any other joints. I would prefer a rectangular a tank instead of a
bow-front one. Does anybody know if there is anything like that out
there somewhere?

How exactly is glass supposed to stick to itself with no adhesive in a
rectangular tank? Unless you can find someone who can blow square (or
rectangular) glass. If you can, I will pay top money for more than a fish
tank, if it is a woman!

lol

Otherwise... you can find almost seamless glass or MORE likely acrylic
tanks, but they still have adhesive that shows...

moulded glass. I can't imagine that it would be safe for a large tank,
but it might well be ok for a little one. never come across one, though.

Never seen one, But i did a bit of asking round and my local Aquarium has
just had a delivery of "Aqua One " seemless Tanks. They are seemless on the
two front corners, The back side seams and the floor are attached in the
convensional way with silicone.
These tanks are expencive but they look the part, come with enclosed floor
stand and hood. The hood contains triple tube lights and a filter on the 4
ft model, and they retail at $1700.00 aust, but could possably be cheaper
in a large retail market

Places like "Fish for U at Ingleburn NSW, [[ http://www.fish4u.com.au ]]
would be cheaper, but freight costs would be substantial, if in fact they
would be prepaired to frieght.

My bloke is at Discount Pet Warehouse, Coffs Harbour, NSW

I don't really like them. Everything gets distorted at the comers so you
loose 1/5 of the viewable area. For what?
