hello all, i have a bit of a problem here. my cichlid jumped out of the
tank over night and spent anywhere from 1-6 hours on the floor. when i
woke in the morning i noticed it was not in the tank at all, long story
short, it was dried up on the floor. its mouth was still moving so i
said what the heck. i put it in my koi's 100galon hospital tank, kept
it in my hand and moved it through the water in order to get some
oxigenated water moving through its gills. well, it escaped my hands
like nothing had ever happened. i had to move it into a 20 gallon
aquarium cuase the koi's water is considerably colder and harder than
what the cichlid was used to. now under glass observation i notice that
the eyes may be permanently damaged apearing very smoked and cloudy.
the cuadal, and dorsal fins once had a nice looking yellow outline and
now are gone leaving a both fins lacking surface area. he\she's not
eating unlike before when it was quite the greedy little fish and was
not even afraid to eat around the oscars

Not much you can do but keep the water very clean and wait. IME jumpers
without some sort of labyrinth organ or lung who have been out of the
tank that long don't usually make it.

Most ISP's strip attachments from posts to text only groups, like this
one.
