Not lately, but a month or two ago google groups had some groups a bit
messed up. My relatively new isp has a good newsgroup server that I now use
without issue now, I don't bother with google groups anymore except when
doing deep searches. I read a post somewhat recently saying that google
groups was attacked with a massive amount of spam which I think had to be
deleted which left a gap in the message order. Later!
