I have a 150 gallon two-year-old reef tank. Approximately two months
ago, I upgraded my lighting with the addition of a 250 watt HQI MH to
supplement my existing approximate 550 watts of VHO lighting. I
currently have approximately 150 turbo snails, and approximately 175
blue and red legged hermits. My nitrates are zero, my phospates are
<.05. My question regards the amount of glass cleaning most reefers
do on a well-maintained, and skimmed tank due to algae growth. I
routinely find that I need to clean the glass every 4-5 days, or the
algae is quite noticeable. Is this common? As I noted, my nitrates
are zero, and phosphates are not zero, but not bad either.

Common. I clean mine every day with a magnet for the "dust" that settles on
the glass. I clean it good with a scraper about once a week for the green
algae.

Yes, ditto here -- every couple days with the magnet cleaner.
