Well, lethargic fish number one went and died last night. I tested the
water yesterday and nothing shows as out of the ordinary. I even
compared the water with the old tank it, if anything, the new tank shows
slightly better quality. Both show pH ~7.5 to 8.0. Both show no
ammonia and very little nitrate. The new tank shows no nitrite whilst
the old tank shows a bit of nitrite.

I put a few blood worms in for the other one as he seems to be following
the same pattern and just sitting on the bottom. As soon as the blood
worms went in he shot out and gobbled a few up before settling on the
bottom again.

Would it be worth putting some aquarium salt in? Anything else anyone
can suggest.

What is the temperature difference?
Did you shock your fish?

That's something I didn't check but both tanks are in the same room and
the new tank was running for a month before we introduced the fish from
the old one.

Or maybe osmotic shock if they went from old tank water to tap water.
If it's something like that they'll perk up. It's good that ammonia is
zero now and nitrite low.

Andy,
I hope I'm not too late with this, but take your filter apart and put
some clean media in there. Sometimes they get clogged and stop working
properly even though they look like they're fine.
