I live on the very southern end of Miami Beach, Florida, in an area that
is called, "South Beach". Here I can purchase bait shrimp real cheap,
like $2.45 for a good-sized bag of frozen shrimp. What I want to know,
is there any kind of draw back to feeding my seven tanks of fish these
shrimp, two or three times a week? When I was in the Army, they always
told me that there are no dumb questions, so I ask this one. Pax
Vobiscum,...~Dean.

I don't see any reason why you can't. That is if they will eat it. Just
wash it off good first to remove most of the brine. And as a special bonus,
if they don't like it, just use the rest fishing!!

Even though I come from a family where the men and most of the female
members go fishing, I have never had a hankerin' ta go fishing,..I think
what really cemented that belief was the time that the Miami [Florida,
USA] River literally burst into flames and burned for a good while, with
the Environmental Protection Agency saying that the riverbottom is so
dangerously toxic, that if they were to try and clean the deadly mixture
of chemicals up, it would just pollute most of the south Florida
waterways,...So, other than the occasional tunafish salad sandwich, I
haven't eaten fish since<LOL>Pax Vobiscum,...~Dean.

I love to eat fish myself. When I was a young child (before starting public
school and a little after starting public school) I would go fishing with my
dad. Then I stopped fishing because I couldn't stand to watch fish suffer
from it, and I was a little scared to touch fish because my dad would
routinely get stung by catfish whiskers and spines on the catfish he would
catch, I have totally got over that except admittedly recently I was
intimidated by the look of a spawning salmon. Then when I became an adult I
started missing the fond memories of fishing with my dad so I started back
up and fished with him for about ten years once every week or two and the
only reason why I haven't fished for a couple of years now is because the
fishing licenses here in oregon are way too expensive in my opinion ($20.00
plus dollars per year). Later!

When I lived in FL, we used to buy our own dinner at the bait stores.

I don't remember that, not can I find it via Google - I do remember the
Cuyahoga River in Ohio catching fire. I mostly remember that sometime that
same year, the mayor also caught fire.

Hey nothing's changed much, people still do buy their own dinners at
bait shops here, only now they call them 'sushi bars'<LOL>Pax

This may be sort of off topic, but here in south Florida, especially in
the Everglades National Park, the top of the food chain is no longer the
alligator, croc or caiman,...It is now the boa, python, and especially
the anaconda, which can as an adult easily overpower and drown the
biggest croc or gator. And unlike the gators, et cetera, anacondas can
easily hide right up at the river's edge in 4 or less inches of water,
and can grab and drown you before you can even yell out. And all of
this is happening because people release their snakes into the wild.
There are also troubles here with freshwater fish, plants, et cetera,
being released into the wild. If any of you folks have any kind of life
forms that you don't want, please don't release them into the wild until
you get that action officially sanction by the right officials locally,
including plants.~Dean.
