Hi all,
Finally made it to the world of the indoor fish keeper; I purchased a
biorb 30 litre, and a new Fantail Goldfish. 24 hours later, and the
fish seems to be happy, swiming around.
One question though, how many pellets should I fed it? One book say
3-4 once a day, another 3 times a day. So far I've feed it 4 pellets
once a day which have been eaten. Anyone else out there in the same
situation?

Companies that sell consumable goods always overstate how much you need
to up their profits. This isn't a big deal when they're selling, say,
toothpaste, but when it comes to a living animal it's despicable.
It's not clear how big your pellets are, but if a pellet is a mouthful
then four per day is about right. Overfeeding is a lot more dangerous
than underfeeding.

Hi Peter,
The pellet size is quite tiny, here is a photo I took of one pellet:

I fed my fantail 8 pellets and he ate them within 2 minutes.
Would you say from the size of that pellet, that 8 is just about right,
or too much?

They are quite small. I'd feed about 4 or 5 twice a day.
Do they expand when they are wet?

Hi Geezer Freezer,
Nope the pellets do not expand when wet.
Okay I'll feed 5 in the morning, and 5 in the evening.
or 10 in the evening? would the fish be more hungry?
Red.

I think 5 morning and 5 evening is sufficient. It's better feeding that
way than 10 in the evening, less waste, and won't bloat the little fishy :)
