View Full Version : Bubble Counter on K2R calcium Reactor

Just got a K2R Calcium reactor (used) and I've slowly been getting
ready to use it... finding a place to put it, finding CO2 suppliers,
finding a eheim shaft for the pump, getting lots of help with from the
previous owner.

One thing I didn't get an answer for yet (perhaps because he tires of
my questions or because he hasn't got to it yet), is how to use the
Bubble Counter. Do I need to fill it with something special, with
water, leave it how it is or what? Some water went into it when I
started it up (the impeller shaft broke and chalky water started going
every where but where it was supposed to) is that bad or can I "count
bubbles through that". Why do I need to count my bubbles?

Also, are all ph controllers the same. Do I need to get a 200$
American Marine or is the Milwaukee thing any use... it looks as though
my solenoid plugs into the mains and I don't see that kind of output on
the Milwaukee units I see images of round the net but I guess they
don't show all the attachments.

Lastly, ORP, what is it and should I be worrying about it... I see a
lot of PH monitors/controllers that are also ORP monitors.

Thanks
