How much light can Bettas tolerate?

I finally finished Junior's canopy (26W) for his 10 gallon and I was
wondering if it's too much. He seems fine, but I thought I would ask. I want
to add some real plants at some point in the future, that's why I went with
the 26 watts.

He's actually turned out to be a beautiful fish, living in the semi dark all
these months. :) His tail has really filled out from the ragged little
stump he had originally.

I don't think the light is a problem as long as you provide him with
some floating plants (I like to use anacharis but there are others to
choose from) and a cave or two for him to hide in when he feels the
need. Also, make sure to turn the lights off at night just like you
would with any other type of fish : )

The light is good for him. As long as it doesn't heat up the water to
where the temp would be bouncing around, and you turn it off at night.
