Was there actually 2 different price tags? I remember that when we would
get a big delivery, we might be floating 50 bags of fish, running around
feeding a bit of water into each, squirting Ammo-lock, prioritizing who
gets released first, and then starting the release as per plan (which was
never 100% right as you never get exactly what you ordered and there
might even be substitutions), AND serving customers. You can imagine the
chaos when we were short staffed on delivery day. Occasionally a bag of
fish was emptied into the wrong aquarium (float in the right tank, lift
bag, talk to customer, turn around and put fish into wrong tank). This
would be a reasonable reason to find Neons & Cards mixed together, that
or ignorance (also not unreasonable given all the inexperienced helpers).

I was in one of the stores where I live a couple weeks ago and looking
at the fish. One of the tanks had Neon Tetras, quite small. In the
same tank were the Cardinal Tetras, same size as the Neons. Now, I'm
wondering if this is particularly clever of the store people. I mean,
if you know the difference between the fish it's easy to tell them
apart, but I would think it makes catching 6 Neons for a customer more
difficult; you zoom the net in there and get four fish but one of them
is a Cardinal, so you've got to get that one out of the net when it
looks quite similar to the other three...this would be much easier if
the fourth fish is a Glowlight, or a Black Neon, or a Cherry Barb or
anything other than a Cardinal. I'm curious as to whether my wondering
about this is justified, or do stores put these two in the same tank
as a matter of course?
