I have soft coral colony growing on a rock that is light brown in
colour. When extended each organisim looks like a palm tree with 8
brown branches on a stalk that is whitish. It looks like a zenia. When
closed it looks like a colony of rounded whitish nubs. I found it once
on a web site. I recall it being encrusting (anthilia?) but can not
find it again. I'm sure I don't have the name right.

Thanks

Todd

That sounds like Clove Polyps to me. Anthelia. I have helped two different
local people erradicate that stuff from their tanks when it took over. If you
like it, enjoy. Just keep it contained so it doesn't overgrow things you love.

Thanks Marc

It is Anthelia. I guess I'm not losing my mind completely if not my
ability to spell.
It grows relatively slowly in my tank. It has covered the top of one
rock and looks nice blowing in the current.
