My Eclipse 3 tadpole pond, established a few weeks
ago, has grown its first frog! It's a little green frog
massing about the same as a mature tadpole. Now
what to do with it... :)

I've been feeding the tadpoles lettuce leaves (zapped
20 sec then cooled) and algae flakes (tropical fish
food). Should I do something different for the
frog stage? I have HBH Frog & Tadpole Bites for
my African Dwarf Frogs (in community tanks) but
I'm not sure those would work for semi-aquatic
wild frogs.

This is cool. :)

Now is the time to turn it loose in a pond or lake. It needs an assortment
of living foods that are difficult to provide in captivity.

Is frog inside or outside?

Noted here, Pacific Treefrogs have quit calling, but I did see an adult in
the lily pond today, mid-day in fact. Lots of froglets. Starting to put the
fantails out. 2nd adult goes out tomorrow. I have 5 babies from last year
back in there. Hoping to start seeing some changing colors. ~ jan

Thanks Kathy, Reel & Jan for the advice. I will
capture it and turn it loose soon. That was the
original intention, anyway. I'm not sure I could
capture enough live food to keep it healthy but will
try that, too, until I can move it back out into the pond.
