Hi All,
Went to LFS this afternoon for supplies, plants and some ottos - came back
with the supplies but also 3 other fish. I have actually been toying with
the idea of getting something that swims nearer the top for my Hex tank
(current occupents Panda Corys and Peacock Gobys).
Anyway I spotted some fish that looked like Harlequins (Rasboras) but were
an incredibly pretty blue rather than the typical orange marking. The woman
in the LFS said they were Black Harlequins. I've never seen them before so
was wondering if anyone else has come across them....they certainly behave
and look like the other Rasboras that we have and are fulfilling my
expectation of swimming in the upper half of the tank....
Very pretty....I'm just curious
Cheers

I did a bit of a search
http://www.fishbase.org/ComNames/ComNamesPicList.cfm?criteria=ComNames%2EComName%20 LIKE%20%27%25rasbora%25%27%20
(ignore the picture repetitions due to the name variations), but I didn't
find anything matching your description. Another site
http://animaldiversity.ummz.umich.edu/site/accounts/classification/Rasbora.html
with perhaps other names which you might check into. It might be a
line-bred color variant which has been recently introduced into the
market. I'm jealous.

Thanks NetMax
http://www.fishbase.org/Photos/PicturesSummary.cfm?ID=10881&what=species
is probably the closest but mine are a much paler blue - maybe they will
darken with age.
I only got three as I wasn't being very imaginative as to where they could
go...might go back after our holidays when we set up the 15g again and see
if they still have some....
