Hi!! I am new here and am looking to gain a wealth of information on ponds.
I am looking to put one in this week or the next. And I have no prior
knowledge on ponds or watergardens but I am hoping to learn all I can and
come up with something good.

$$ Check out as many websites as you can. Also, most DIY stores sell books
on water gardens. There are many books available on ponds and keeping pond
fish as well.

Welcome aboard Rob and Cheryl,

When it comes to putting in a Watergarden/Pond I love the advice given by a
Pond magazine that I read a while ago. It said to mark on the lawn with an
old garden hose where and how large you want the pond. Let it say there
about a week and after a week go out and double the size and start putting
your pond in, because it is easier to double the size before you dig that to
increase the size of an already existing pond.

This is the BEST advice I ever heard of. We started with a 150 gallon kiddy
pool, went on to an 800 gallon pond, then put in a 2000 gallon pond. If it
weren't for the septic field lines it could have been bigger.....
