Eheim 2227 Wet Dry Filter

I have a new Eheim 2227 Wet Dry Filter. Not 100% sure it's working
correctly. The water level in the filter rises and falls (I know that
is by design) but it doesnt seem to use the whole canister. Where does
the max water level reach on other peoples 2227 canisters?

cant say on the perticular model you say(not a eheim at all) but wet/dry is
supposed to have a dry part that doesnt have water in it, hense the wet/dry
part.

Have the same filter, only fills about 75% of the way, then dumps the water.
Hasn't been a problem and been working like this for over a year.
