when my Rio 240 was delivered the crossbar was broken.
After phonecalls etc, I was compensated by way of a Juwel Rekord60 tank and
given a new crossbar, some super glue (this from Juwel) and stold just to
glue it.

Fine, but I just glued the old crossbar as it was already OK at the other
end.
That was in November.
Today I noticed it's off again, but now obiously it has water, gravel, and
Platies in it :-)
It's not that bad, but bowing enough that if I slide the top back, it will
not sit.

What's the best way to drain it and keep the filter and fish alive as the
silicone must be kept dry for 24 hours ?
(Idon't know where I'm going to get a clamp big enough to hold it together
either)

Maybe you can hire a sash clamp to hold tank together while glue sets.
