Could I ask, how your going to get your section of glass [square rod ??]
into the corners of the tank, with the Silicone seal in place. Or are you
going to trim it off. Not a real bright idea. Why does the tank need
bracing.

This is an acrylic aquarium, not glass. Acrylic tanks have square corners.
without any silicone.

The tank has some crazing or stress fractures in some of the corners.
The bracing is to strengthen these 'weak' areas and for my peace of mind.
The tank is also VERY deep, 33" front to back. The bracing will allow
me to put some weight on the top of the tank while I'm leaning in/on it
to work in the tank.

IME and IMO as well, it's just not worth the risk to continue using a
tank showing signs of damage. The price of a new tank is far less
than the possible cost of

tank
stock
carpet
floorboards
etc
etc

my 2 pennies, take them for what they're worth.
