I have a 75 gal tank 50 lbs of LR 4" of sand mixed with live sand; which
roughly 4 weeks old. I have 2 coralife bulbs (10,000K each) that are on
for 6 hours a day,
Im now growning green algea hair and I also have these worms that are brown
and orange.

How do i get rid of the Algea and are the worms ok? I head the worms can
hust me if i tough them, is this true. What should I do next?

Thanks

Turn the lights on for a shorter period. It's part of the cycle process. It
will go away.

Does the hair algae feel like snot? If it does it will go away. If it
doesn't get some more "cleanup crew" critters. I like RED leg hermits and
turbos. Need a picture of the worms. They are probably ok.

I have hermit crabs that eat my hair algae. The worms are good or bad
depending on who you ask.

i still have this problem, its been ongoing for about 2-3 mos now. tried
scrubbing it off the rocks, now just vacuum bulk of it off rocks weekly with
5 gallon water change. starting to irritate. coincidentally it started same
time i added a 10k coralife and 50/50 to my existing 50/50 and 100%
actinic's. now have 160 watts lite, tried reducing lite, now at 8hrs a day
again, tank is growing hundreds of nice looking purplish tube worms, pink
sponge, recent addition of 1-1/1/2" sand bed just after hair algae prob
started should be kicking in with good life by now. cant figure out when
this har algae will subside. .....?????? anybody?
