I have set up my second SW tank, a 29 gal. which I intend to eventually
be a coral tank. It's occupied currently by one tomato clown, 6 astrea
turbo snails, and one hermit crab who hitched a ride on the live rock.
This LR came from my 55 fowlr set up.

Taking a cue from Mr. Levenson, I made a sump/refugium out of a 20 gal.
long tank. It contains about 14 gal. total water volume, so total volume
for the system is 40+ gallons.

I am surprised at how much the LR has grown in the 6 weeks it's been in
this tank. There are a bunch of scypha sponges, lots more tube worms, and
other things sprouting out that I haven't ID'ed yet.

One main difference between this tank and my 55 is that this tank has 1
hermit, and my 55 has at least a dozen. I have heard that hermits can
graze on beneficial fauna, and wonder if they have kept my other LR
grazed down? They are both blue and scarlet hermits.

While not having a larger clean up crew can be problematic at times, it
does allow for a variety of life to appear at least for a while. My
tiny tank has all kinds of critters showing up, which is pretty neat.
