I have a filter going in my betta's tank. Now that I've
added an algae eater, will I need to oxygenate/aerate the
water in the tank?

How big is the tank? Since the betta is a labyrinth, there will be
only one fish using O2 from the water. As long as the output from the
filter you mention stirs up the surface of the water a bit, your
algae eater should be fine. What kind is it?

Good question. Here are some photos:

Chinese Algae Eater. (CAE). Not considered one of the more desireable
fish. Keep an eye on him.

I think that the cae comes from pretty fast moving water (hence well
oxygenated) compared to a betta; they can get pretty big, too, never mind the
potential for aggression. ANother point worth bearing in mind is that
labyrinth fish have the ability to take oxygen from air if necessary, as far
as I'm aware they usually get oxygen through their gills, just like other
fish.
if your filter is disturbing the surface of the water at all it will be
oxygenating it - having said that, if you've got a little tank - and/or a
short supply of algae - I'd be inclined to take the CAE back to the shop
