Ever since I got a case of the lazy butt and it got so stinking hot
outside I have neglected to cut any more grass than was absolutlely
necessary........So this past weekend I went out and decided I had to
do something.....almost needed a bush hog and hay baler to do the
grass around the pond........All the aquatic marginals as well as
regular land plants we had in the raised area are so over grown, but
look good. They even covered up my little stream and one of my small
preforms and spillway, but it looks really good just the
same......Lilys have just gone hog wild, with nice full coverage
around 2/3rd of the ponds edge out to about 12 feet from shore and
thats in a 1+ acre pond........heaps of blooms......The sensitve vine
(touch me plant) has managed to fully cross the pond and back a few
times. That plant does wonders at removing heaps of nutrients from the
water and does a great job of providing surface shade with lots of
hair like hanging roots for fish to hide in and feed off......and the
one great thing is its easy to control no matter how long or bushy and
full it gets.

Seem to be spending more and more time fooling with the half barrels
with tropical fish in them and my Pico reef tank as well as working on
a stand for our new 150 gal reef tank, which hopefully will be in this
week........

I went away for 5 days, actually left Monday 5 AM, so last look at lily
pond, plus usual dead heading/pad removal, Sunday PM. Home Friday 11AM and
the lily pond's whole surface is covered with pads. So I guess that would
be.... Can't find the surface anymore.... ;o) ~ jan
