Hi
I'm in the process of hatching some brine shrimp to feed some fry I
have. Once I have them hatched in the brine can anyone tell me the
best way to actually feed them to the fry? I am assumming I have to
strain tehm out of the salty water in the first instance. I have read
that coffee filters are good for this but I don't know what to do once
this has been done. Do I just scrape them off and chuck them in the
tank?
Many thanks for any help.

If your fry are all together, low in tank, some add a little tank water
after straining and use a turkey baster to get to where they are initially.

Re-usable nylon coffee filters work great, yes. Just rinse the artemia
gently under the tap, let the water run off, turn the filter inside
out, and dip it in the tank.

I haven't hatched brine for ages. I buy frozen baby brine shrimp now
because they're much cheaper than deshelled eggs.
First you have to let the unhatched eggs/cysts settle. This is really
important if you didn't deshell the eggs because tiny fry will choke on
unhatched eggs. Then I had a fine, white, nylon brine shrimp net. I
used to dip the napulii out, rinse, and turn the net inside-out near the
fry. Mary's turkey baster idea sounds even better.

Correct, and it's a lot less mucking around, Stick the frozen chip, in some
warm water, when it thaws, feed it, frozen daphnia is also good.

You can also buy de-shelled eggs which are good as they are. All the
ntrient value is there, just not the motion that attracts the small
fish's attention. They are much cheaper than hatchable eggs.
