My Calcium levels are high in my 75 gal tank
Will a partial water change help bring the levels down?
thanks

Just don't add any more calcium for the next few days and it will drop
automatically as it is consumed by calcium needing creatures (coralline, snails,
ca-based corals).

a partical water change will particaly change the Ca levels.

if Ca is high, then your Alk is most likely low, you need to correct the
imballance to prevent it and a large water change will help get it back to
normal levles.

My Calcium was over 600 and by Alk I just checked is 144.
I'm in the middle of a partial water change using RODI. I know I need to
reduce the Cal to 400, what should the Alk be?
I have a new tank which is 5 weeks old, I only have LR (50 lbs) and nothing
else in the tank. I was advised to get these levels under control before
moving ahead to corals

after changing the water you have already made up stop adjusting

i dont know alk as 144, what test kit did you use, if its HIGH then just leaving it be
will work the best.

common alk measurements are meq/l(2-6) and dkh (9-14)

the reading was 144 ppm (mg/L) CaCO3.
According to the Lamotte Alkalinity Test Kit
