Seaclone in a sump?

I just replaced my Seaclone with a Remora. I got to wondering if the
seaclone might work better used in a sump rather than hung on the tank. It
seems the biggest flaw is the serpentine injection tube. That has to take a
lot of umph out of the flow. In a sump, that would not be present. Or am I
just whistling dixie?

i have a seaclone 150, and all i did was put a maxijet 1200 on it, and it
skims like crazy. this is in the HOB mode, ive never tried it in a
sump/wetdry... yet

Mine did have a MJ 1200, and it never did skim consistently. But as they
say, YMMV.

weird. how much tubing were using to connect the pump to the serpentine
tubing that connects to the skimmer?

thats the only thing i can think of. it recommends putting the pump at least
8" deep, but when i did this i got barely any skimmate. n ow, i have the
pump about 3" deep and i skim like crazy. wanna see? i can take a pic...
