The back of my tank has a lot of pink/purple coraline algea on it. About 1/3
of the glass is covered. My live rock is well cover as well. My question is
should I leave it on the glass? is this a bad thing to be on the glass? The
looks of it don't bother me, I think it adds to the looks of the the tank. I
would have to move around my LR to remove it. Thanks

what you have is coraline algae, which is a good thing. it means youre past
the brown, then green algae stages of your tank. you can leave it on the
glass if you want, it does no harm to tanks. ive got massive growth on the
intakes of my skimmer and emp 280. makes it look better IMO

As long as it does not bother you to look it, it will not cause any
problems and many people are actually proud to be able to grow enough
coralline to cover the back of there tanks. So just leave it alone. I
only clean it from the viewing panels of the tank myself and leave it on
the sides and back if you can't view the tank from those areas.
