cleaning the glass

What would be the best way to clean the inside of my marine tank? Should I
use the same sponge on a stick type things that you use on fresh water
tanks?

Your best bet would be to use something like the MagFloat glass cleaner.
With it, you don't need to stick your hands in the tank, just slide it
around on the glass, and it will do a nice job.

Mighty Magnets to me are a waste of good money, but that is just my
opinion.

I have tried everything and my favorite after all this time is a razor
blade.

After much frustration and lots of wasted money trying different
products, I finally came upon a scraper in my local pet store that
used a razor blade. It cost me about $4.00. It will not scratch
glass and it is quick.

Some top books also recommend using a razor blade to keep your glass
clean and believe me once you try it you will agree.

when I get lazy and allow the coralline to build up a razor blade is my
solution to getting a spotless glass. but to be honest the mag float works
great if you use it on a regular enough basis say every few days as opposed
to weekly.

Call me crazy, but I enjoy sticking my arms in my tanks. I bought one
of those plastic dish scrubbers (made sure it did not have any added
fungicides and stuff) and daily clean the inside glass. For me it is
relaxing but I could see how a razor would be good for stubborn spots.

A good BH&G tip for using any sponge is to put it damp (use tap water to
rinse out all salt water) in the microwave to kill any bacteria that
could be harmful. Two minutes is all it takes.

thing is when you get into a reef, the oil off your skin is not good for the
tank and your tank is much happier when you keep your hands out.

also your skimmer will shut down for an hour or two after any skin contact
with the water.

Funny you would say that. A couple weeks ago I got an anemone, My clown
boded with it and now when you put youe hand in the tank you've got to
wiggle your fingers to skare the clown away or he will bite you or the rock
you'rs moving.
