Hi all,
My 46g tank has been cycling for about two and a half weeks now with 70Lbs
live rock, and 55lbs of live sand. These are the readings I got today and
want to know if these seem normal for 2-3 weeks of cycling, if there is a
"normal".

Ammonia - .25-.5ppm
Nitrate NO3 - 5-25ppm
Nitrite NO2 - 0.5ppm

Do you think I will be able to add some life to the tank in about 2 weeks?
Specifically the ones below?

Scarlet Hermit Crabs 7
Mexican Turbo Snails 13
Dwarf Red Tip Hermit 20
Abalone Snails 1

Thanks,
BigHaig

Were you using the shrimp method for cycling or just the LR?
Also, I know you said 55lbs of live sand but that doesn't sound like a DSB.
How deep is your sand?

These two readings show you are right in your cycling process.
Ammonia is usualy gone first, then Nitrite stay much longer.
When they BOTH start reading 0.0ppm for a several days in a row
you can assume your cycle is done, but this does not mean of
course you can dump all planed animals in there right a way.
Tank will be very fresh then and in front of you will be typical
algae plague so I would avoid adding corals for MONTHS!
Your cleaning crew would be ok and rather helpfull just after
the cycle will be done.

the DSB is about 3-4 inches. Should I add more?

"Normal"? It really depend on how cure your LR when you received it. Some
may take longer and other is short. Just from your water parameter, it is
not complete yet. ANN will go up and down as each get process.

Same here. I have a 75gal but it took 250 lbs to make 4" so that is why I
thought 55lbs seemed a bit light.
