Four to five months ago I started up my first marine tank in a spare 20g
I had. Since then I have moved them to my 55g and a 10g. So far so
good and I have only lost a few fish which I think were not well to
begin with.

A little more than a week ago I bought a picasso trigger fish for my 55g
and what a fish he is. First thing he did was start to eat my live rock
and his presence scared my clown and scooter blenny so much that they
hid in a corner. Well this arrangement made me rethink my tanks set up.
So I removed all my live rock to the 10g as well as my 9 turbo snails,
took my damsels out of the 10g and put them in the 55, removed the clown
and blenny to the 10g, and all are happy now. The 55g is now a fish
only tank and the 10g is well on its way to becoming a nano reef.

I had a small corner filter in my 10g but with all the live rock (which
is the same as a filter) I did not need it in there any longer. Now I
only use a power head to move the water around and do my 3g water
changes weekly and what a happy tank it is. The clown is a little
lonely but fine and will have a mate this week and the blenny is
scooting around with a smile. Future plans for the 10g besides corals
are some feather duster worms and more crustations. I have the tank set
up on the bottom shelf of my 20g tank now but am thinking of getting it
its own stand and a better place to view.

My skilter has finally started working properly and the micro bubbles
are gone which is good because I was afraid I would have to buy a new
protein skimmer for my 55g. I bought the thing new for my 20g and paid
almost $100 for it and the directions said that it would work in tanks
from 10g to 100g (but needed extra filtration for larger tanks) and I
use it and my whisper 60 and they work great. The skilter produces
enough waist to have to be emptied every three days now.

The fish in the 55g are as follows.
3 pajama cardinal fish
(boring things as they just hang around)
1 blue damsel
1 yellow tailed damsel
1 coral beauty dwarf angel fish
1 snowflake moray eel
1 picasso trigger fish

The trigger fish is so full of personality and I am glad I got him. At
nite he sleeps in his bed (I am not joking here he really lays on his
side and sleeps) and at first I thought he was sick till he woke up and
started swimming around. I have a decoration in the tank which is a
large hollow 1/2 of a sunk ship which has flat space on top which he has
as a bed. He always sleeps in the same spot and reminds me of my
husband with his tail hanging off the edge like my husbands feet LOL.
When I turn the lights on in the morning he yawns (I think) and gets up
to start his day. He puts everything in his mouth, loves to eat and has
a fondness for the frozen peas I give the coral beauty. He does not
bother anyone and will follow me around when I am close enough to the
tank for him to see me. He reminds me of an Oscar and the books I have
read said that they are true aquatic pets not just something to watch
and feed.

I think I am at my stocking level so do not plan on adding any new fish
to the tank. Once we move (looking at houses now) and if we find a
house with enough room I will get the 150g tank and give my fresh water
fish their 55g tank back. I will then add a few more fish to the tank
(a lion fish comes to mind) so I wait and see.

Thanks for the reply Marc. I get so many good ideas from reading in
here. Between this news group, books and Reef Central, I get so much
information. I have book marked your site too and enjoy reading and
viewing your wonderful pictures. One of these days I will have to post
some pictures from my tanks so you can see them too.
