I am new to setting up a salt water tank and have doing some reading. I just
bought a filter (Millennium 3000) it has ajustable impellair aeration
(venturi action), can anyone explain what this is, and what benefits I would
get from using it in my tank?

Thanks for the help in advance,

AK
P.S. I have been following this newsgroup for awhile to build my knowledge
and want to thank everyone who posts their insights into the big would of
reef tanks.

the verturi draws air in and makes bubbles in the tank, this gives good gas
exchange but in a marine tank the bubbles cause more harm then good. its
best to just leave the line unattached.
