We are considering the Aqua Spacelight Metal Halide HQI system for our 55
gallon reef tank.
Has anyone used this system? How well does it perform for you?
We are wondering why it is not fan cooled.
Any experiential knowledge with this light system is appreciated.
Bests.

Mark, I think of it as the european sports sedan of fixtures. I have the
spacelight with
2x250w 2x24w 03's. UN-believeable! Was a big improvement over previous
fixture,wich
was by no means bad.JBJ 4x65w pc's. To get back to the mercedes-benz, the
reason they are not fan cooled,is due to the fact that a direct air flow
over the H.Q.I. bulbs affects the
bulbs in a negative way. I would assume due to the high temp of the bulb.
fellow group members might be able to give a little more input. but go
definately look into them.
I got mine for a good price at an online company out of south jersey.anyway
good luck

Thanx for the info.
We definitely like the style and want the 2x250w 2x24w 03's
BTW where exactly did you get yours ("for a good price")?
We have priced them at Marine Depot for $850.00.

The lights are good quality lights. I also think you can get an
