If I have an experimental tank with photosynthesizing animals and m-algae only
and I do not care how does it look like to the human eye - can I use actinic only
powercompacts? I have checked-up customSeaLife website and they describe their
Ultra-Actinic - as for "activation of photosynthesis in chlorophyll A and C".
I understand it makes the most rays from electric watt without wasteing energy
on light rays that are not useful in photosynthesis...
What chlorophyll type works in anemones? What type exists in green and red algae?
From your experience, how would bulb-tip anemone (quadricolor) behave under
actinic only with no "white" bulb at all? What about the macroalgae?
Try to disconnect completely from the idea "it would look not good" - try to
concentrate only on the biological aspect of the issue... Would it be ok or not?

Check out this graph. Chlorophyll absorption has two peaks. One around 430nm
(A) and the other around 660nm (C). It reflects the most at 525nm (green)
which is why plants are green. So the Ultra-Actinic should work fine for
growing stuff with chlorophyll:
