Hi all, I just got a 20 gal tank from somebody. It came with 2 fish
already Not shure what kind of fish they are, but i added 3 glowlight
tetras to them. My question is I have snails and I don't mind them too
much, I would like to get a fish that eats them too keep population
down, but the fish must live well with the others.
Thanks for your help.

Your tank is probably too small for Clown Loaches but YoYo Loaches might
do the trick for you....
BTW can you describe your two unknown fish maybe someone here could help
ID them

Skunk botia do a pretty good job on snails and
stay small (about 2"). They do fine in my tanks
with small tetras, cory cats, otocinclus. I've also
had dwarf gourami and bettas in the tanks with
no problems.
My skunks keep the population down but not
out. I.e., I have some large snails in the tanks
(which help keep the algae in check) but few
or no small snails or eggs.

well I found out one of them is a type of Danio, the other one he said
he thought is was a something Rainbow. it is about 3-3.5" long about
1.5-2" high it has a red tail fin(not sure of fin names yet or at least
unsure of them), the top(dorsal) fin is mostly towards the tail, it also
has a blackish stripe down the middle of him. Note it has been known to
be slightly aggressive (chasing other fish, not nipping). But that is
when there was a angelfish in with him, which was huge, if memory is
correct the angel was about 3x3" maybe a bit bigger.

Is it any of these?
http://members.optushome.com.au/chelmon/Australis.htm (Western Rainbow)
http://www.amonline.net.au/fishes/fishfacts/fish/mtrifasc.htm (Banded
Rainbow)
http://www.rainbowfishes.org/ has lots of pictures and information if he
isn't one of the above.
BTW my Red Rainbow is a chaser although tends to pick on the other
Rainbows or the Platys which are a similar colour.

it looks like the western rainbow, shaping more like the one in the
background.

I believe most rainbows are schooling fish so you probably should get at
least a couple more (if you can) depending on your tank size....
