View Full Version : Replacing RO membrane question

Does any one know if it's possible to replace an RO membrane without first
destroying the housing? If so, what is the recommended technique? The
housing on my Captive Purity system has a large, friendly looking, screw cap
on one end that has refused to loosen despite my efforts. Some pointers
would be appreciated before I decide on more drastic action.

Soak it in very hot water.

I would try fish guy suggestion regarding hot water. And try again.

Thanks. That helped. What really helped was when I finally realized that the
tubing could safely be removed from the fittings. It was much easier with
the housing completely disconnected from the rest of the unit.
