View Full Version : What's the air intake tube for?

Hi everyone,

Please excuse my ignorance on filters, but I just bought an internal
power filter 2400L/h, and the box doesn't have instructions. I put it
together and it works well, you should have seen all the crud that my
gravelvac didn't suck up... the filter sure did!

Anyway, it came with this extra piece of tubing with a cap on the end.
I assume this is the air intake tube. There is a small nozzle that I
think it attaches too, which comes off the power current generator
thingy. What is the air intake thing for? Do I have to use it? I'm
too scared to attache it because I don't want to put air in my pump and
wreck it...

Thanks.

it will suck air in through it and fire small bubbles out into the tank.
Supposed to increase the oxygen in the water... Some surface movement will
do for all but the most overstocked tanks...

Cheers
