View Full Version : buildind a raised pond "help"

I am building a 9ft by 5ft with a 3 ft depth raised pond, i will have a
brick
front for show, do i have to use breeze blocks for strenght on the in
side of the brick wall or some thing else---- ive only had ponds in
the ground so this is a new adventure for me---------- i will be using
pond liner

For the inner leaf, concrete block with stone NOT cinder for the
aggregate, brick on the outside. Fill any air gaps with cement or
concrete as you go, I used the left overs at the end of a building
session. A wall thickness of 9", solid, is the recommended norm in the
UK. Polystyrene sheeting makes excellent underlay for the walls, not
the floor, and is insulating too.
You are putting in a good foundation, arent you?
Is the pond wholey above ground, it is better for thermal stability if
some of it is below ground.
