I desperately need as many photos of guppies as I can muster in a short
time.
I am currently finishing up a book I have written on the keeping and
breeding of guppies. I have decided that a gallery of guppy photos
would be a suitable close to the book, in celebration of their immense
genetic diversity and variability.
The book was written from a hobbyists breeders point of view, brought
about by frustration at the lack of material being written for "Joe
Average" on the subject. It seems to me that people who have material
published on the topic are either writing as if a small child is the
audience ("Timmy has a new fish...") or as if the book is destined to
live on a coffee table in a doctors waiting room, not bothering to
include any real useable information as it will never be read seriously
by a hobbyist.
My plan is to release the final product as an E-Book, to keep the price
of reproduction and distribution down and make it as accessible to as
many people as possible.
To this end, I appeal to the owners of Guppies to gift me a few simple
photos of their fish. Males, females, great fish, bad fish, fry .... I
need photos of the lot. I will be happy to credit the donors of the
photos in any way they see fit - to date, most have opted to have their
online nic' added to the photo as credit.
Please send your photos to me at
Any graphical file format will be fine, multiples are heartily
encouraged. Please do not add any text or graphics to the photo before
sending it. I will reply in person to everyone who takes the time to
send me a photo.
