Very nice photography of your fish,
I'm glad you have finally got a grip on looking after your fish, I've lost
quiet a few fish due to not properly reading up on them first. but I, too,
am finally seeing the benefits of my little pets. I adore them, and I have
my eye on a massive 9ft tank that I saw a few months back, but I'll have to
wait until I move out of my parents house, which will be in a year or so,
once the girl friend has finished her univeristy course.
You first beta was very simialr to my beta, in looks, except mine has a
white head, mine unfortunatly can not live with other fish as he is TOO
agressive. I like the crown beta you have now, he is lovely. You seem to
have the same taste in fish as I do, I had a pair of golden rams, which
unfortunatly died when my clown loaches brought Ich to the tank.
I would love some Carinotetraodon travancoricus, the dwarf puffers your
Girlfriend had, but I don't have the money, space or time to give at the
moment to looking after their specialist needs.
I also have a krib, but he is very agressive, I'm not sure what it is, I
always seem to get the odd balls of the bunches, he killed two octocinclus'
but I know someone who keeps cichlids, so in a few days he will be going off
to a better home, I'll be sad to see him leave, but I'm sure my other fish
will be glad to see him go, lol.
I hope your experience with your fish continues to get better, and I wish ye
luck, as I know a lot of us dive in to this hobby and try to run before we
can walk.

Glad you like the pictures... there are plenty out there that are a lot
better though :P
Basically my technique is to take a billion pictures from every
imaginable angle/distance and then go through them all to see if any
actually look decent. I suppose that's only a good plan if you have a
digital camera since 95% of them end up getting thrown out probably.
I've found that different angles/positions/camera settings work best on
different cameras... if you have a digital camera just experiment with
it a lot.
And of course then I photoshop them a bit.
I adjust the levels, the hue/saturation, do an unsharpen mask, and then
use the clone brush to get rid of any areas with bad
reflection/nastiness on the tank.
I doubt this is going to win you any awards or make you a published
photographer, but if you just want some pictures of your fish to show
friends/strangers/anyone you can grab long enough then I guess it's
sufficient.

Hi,
really nice pictures, but for my opinion there are some plants missing.
To win any award, I suppose you should improve the quality of your
pictures.
Nevertheless a good start.
Here you can find my pictures to get an imagine how fishpictures can
look like.

Thanks for sharing! I love the picture of the rams and the last shot of
the krib family colored up so nicely over the dark gravel.
