adding a airstone? not good for planted tank?

Am i right in thinking that adding an airstone/bubble curtain (for visual
affect) would not be beneficial for a planted tank? Tank has co2.

Correct, for CO2 injection you need to have as little surface agitation as
possible, otherwise the dissolved CO2 in the water easily escapes.
