This morning I noticed on the side of one of my three goldfish a pink
bulge. It looks more like an injury than a disease. Like, a scale is
missing and a part of the muscle is bulging out, like something
ruptured from the inside or something is bulging out from the inside.
The fish acts as if nothing is wrong. It's not bleeding or oozing.
There is nothing in the tank that it could have caught itself on. The
three fish get along quite well. The *other* two fish are male and
female and every once in awhile start courting type behavior and the
female even lays eggs sometimes. During the courting, the male will
sometimes chase the female enough to knock off a few scales, but the
female is way bigger so I don't worry. This third goldfish, with the
new injury or disease, gets along with the other two. They are about
2-3 inch long fish. Any ideas what causes a pink bulge out the side of
a goldfish? I hope it heals. Thanks!
