Hi Ya,
I just got a 240 and have now had it set up for two months. I have a
euroreef 8-3 skimmer. Will that be good enough or do I need to get
something bigger and better?
Thank y'all!!! :-)

The CS8-3 is rated for tanks up to 175g. What kind of livestock do you plan
on keeping? It most likely will not be enough except high nutrient loving
corals.

that's true but euroreef says it's a very conservative estimate. The
manual that came with the skimmer it is good for upto 600 gallons -
that's a long way from 175.
I have a red sea tang, hippo tang, 12 green chromis, blenny, maroon
clown, flamehawk and copperband butterfly.

FWIW i use the Euro-Reef CS12-2 on my 180 and i dont think its to much by
any means. with the fish you listed, the 12-2 or bigger might be a better
skimmer for you.

Hence my question on what kind of livestock you plan to keep. For nutrient
loving corals one can do as little as 2-3x skimmer turnover and the skimmer
will be plenty. So say a skimmer can process 600 gph, then it will just do
fine on a 200g system. However, for a SPS system one would want it close to
5-6x turnover, or the same given 600 gph skimmer now can only handle an 100g
system. This is the main reason why most skimmers have such a wide range of
ratings.

Currently it seems to be on a fish side. For fish one would treat them as
SPS corals as fish produces the most waste, hence stronger skimming is
desired. Do you have any idea on the kind of corals you wish to keep?
