LFS experts and on-line contacts have not been able to identify these
spots. It is not ick. The spots turn brown/orange, then disappear.

My oranda (1 fish out of 7) had these spots for nearly two months. I
raised temp to 78 degrees, did frequent water changes, fed antibacterial
food laced with Seachem's Garlic Guard, and slowly they disappeared.

Earlier in his treatment in a hospital tank I tried the usual
medications (Maracyn, Maracyn Plus, Coppersafe, fluke med), but they did
nothing at all. Fish never stopped eating though. As you can clearly
see, there are no frayed fins. There are also no discolorations, red
patches, or growths besides these spots. They are not waxy. They do not
cluster. Fish is an indoor fish and was purchased (imported I believe)
two months prior to the breakout of these spots. I must note that other
fish in tank he was purchased from also broke out around the same time
and the LFS staff did not know what it was.

Pics may seem the same, but they are actually taken over a 3 week period
toward the end of treatment when I had learned how to care for him. In
photo #2, spots are turning darker. By the time the spot comes to a
"head" (3rd photo) it disappears within 2-3 days. He is now spot free
and has been reintroduced to his tankmates.

Anybody?
