It's been a mystery to me, but what's the difference between cured and
uncured? Is one better than the other?

What's the "rule of thumb" so to say for the amount of LR for a tank? Is it
1lb/gal? or does it depend on the density of the rock? So far I have 10# of
Fiji in my 33g tank..

1 last thing, does anyone have a good website to learn about sumps and
overflows or a good book on them? I can't seem to find anything off
google.com.

Thanks,
SS

Cured has been properly conditioned and skimmed of lifeless material. This
has been answered many times... search google not the idiots here.

It depends on what you want your tank to look like since different rock has
different densities. I have 200 lbs of tonga and 300 lbs of fiji in my 125
and it looks like 800 lbs due to the density of the rock.

Google.

Cured LR smells fresh and can be used in an existing setup. You can put it in
as you can afford it, if you can't afford all of it up front.

Uncured smells exceedingly foul, usually has blackened areas of rotting mass.
Do not add uncured LR to an existing setup.

Rule: 1-1.5lbs/gal

Check out my site, linked below, for information about sumps and weirs.
