I have 2 175 Icecaps and 2 blue moons why is it that 50 % of the time
the Icecaps are broken , shorted or back for repair and no trouble with
the Bluemoons?

Beats me since my 3 IceCap 175s have been running flawlessly on a
daily cycle for over a year. Not a glitch.

Just a WAG on my part but.... Perhaps is a supply voltage issue? Voltage
can fluctuate greatly during the day especially in the summer.
Find out if IceCap has a specification. prolly 120V +/- 10%
Any decent multimeter can monitor your voltage on that outlet over a period
of time and record your high and low readings.
Worth a try.
