I have seven fish tanks, all of them run well except for one of the tanks
that dosen't get much light. Even after 2 months there is almost no
accumulation
of bacteria or debris in the filter. As a result the fish have a very hard
time in that tank
and I forced to do water changes very often.

Is light/photosynthesis crucial to bacteria multiplication?

I never had tanks do well in the dark either. Why not move it closer to a
window or but a cheap reflector for it?
