at last!
All I had to do was get a better skimmer (remora) and RO water.
Down to 10 ppm. I have had quite a bit of brown algae, but I needed to
get some more snails to help with that.
I think the algae is dying off, since I was able to blow a lot off the
rocks with a turkey baster.
I checked the local utilities web page and discovered that the local
water contains 9.1 ppm nitrates, which I'm sure wasn't helping any.
Hopefully a corner has been turned. This is a 55g fowlr that is 9 months
old. It only contains 4 small fish, one brittle star and a condactis
anemone, 50-60 lb LR, 2-3" LS.
Now perhaps those anaerobic bacteria can get a grip on things?
